Cupping therapy

Cupping therapy (Turkish: hacamat, Arabic: hijama, Indonesian: bekam) is an age-old treatment method in which cups are used to create a vacuum on the skin.
This is done by creating an underpressure in the cups where the skin is exposed to suction for a few minutes.
As a result, toxins and waste materials that have accumulated in the tissues are sucked from the depth to the surface. These pathogenic factors are then driven out of the body more easily.
The skin then discolours from light pink to dark purple depending on the severity of blood flow and accumulation of toxins.
When the circulation is slow or affected in a hurt or affected part of the body, insufficient oxygen enters the cells, causing a local accumulation of waste.
